However, his art does not end in these two moments: he was in fact a multifaceted artist, a tireless traveler and a courageous experimenter.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">Born in Leverkusen (Germany) in 1932, Wolf Vostell devoted himself to artistic activity starting in the fifties. <span class=\"\">In 1953 he began an apprenticeship as a lithographer and studied at the Wuppertal Academy of Applied Arts, completing his first training at the \u00c9cole Nationale Superieur des Beaux Arts in Paris and finally at the Academy of Fine Arts in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_416\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-416\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-416\" src=\"https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Wolf-Vostell-libra-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Wolf-Vostell-libra-2.jpg 768w, https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Wolf-Vostell-libra-2-600x450.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-416\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">&#8220;Libra&#8221;, the work of Wolf Vostell for Bolaffi Arte.<\/span> <span class=\"\">The work is taken from the collection &#8220;The signs of the zodiac&#8221;.<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span lang=\"it-IT\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">In the Sixties he had been a role model of the <strong>Fluxus<\/strong> movement, born with the purpose of canceling the differences between the various artistic genres in the name of absolute freedom of expression and a primary relationship between art and life. Along with him, the names of\u00a0\u00a0<strong>N<\/strong><\/span><\/span><strong>am June Paik<\/strong>, <strong>Allan Kaprow<\/strong>, <strong>Yoko Ono<\/strong>, <strong>Joseph Beuys<\/strong> and <strong>John Cage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 align=\"LEFT\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"short_text\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">Vostell&#8217;s poetics and electronic D\u00e9-collage<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">Vostell&#8217;s artistic philosophy is based on the idea that destruction runs throughout the twentieth century. <span class=\"\">His most famous artistic invention, the <strong>electronic D\u00e9-Collage<\/strong>, consists in taking images from commercial TV, isolating and &#8220;reassembling them&#8221; in new and original sequences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">It owes its name to an &#8230; accident: in September 1954 Vostell read on the front page of Le Figaro that an airplane crashed immediately after taking-off, or <em>peu apr\u00e8s son d\u00e9collage<\/em>.<\/span> <span class=\"\">This last word struck his imagination: it means snatching glued things and dying, and represents in his eyes the destructive process of life.<\/span><\/span><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2838 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Wolf-Vostell-libra-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Wolf-Vostell-libra-.jpg 768w, https:\/\/old.marottaeditori.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Wolf-Vostell-libra--600x342.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"short_text\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">The Vostell Malpartida Museum<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">A restless spirit, Vostell traveled extensively to settle in Extremadura, the autonomous community of Spain and his wife native land, Mercedes Guardado Olivenza.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">In particular, he was so impressed with the Los Barruecos, a natural conformation formed by globular granite boulders overlooking the Salor River, used &#8211; among other things &#8211; as a battlefield in the seventh season of Games of Thrones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\">Precisely in an old building of Los Barruecos, originally used for the processing of wool, he founded the<\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/museovostell.gobex.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vostell Museum of Malpartida<\/strong><\/a>, <span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">inaugurated in 1976.
